With a few more important features added, you might have a plugin Aperture users would pay for. A few things for you to consider: the plane of focus needs to be 'tiltable', not always a straight horizontal line. Also, the depth of field/amount of blur needs to be adjustable. And as Mario mentioned, an oval-shaped plane of focus is a must, with the same adjustability that I just mentioned. Unfortunately, you will be competing with a very good selective focus plugin that's already on the market - OnOne Software's FocalPoint (which I already own, sorry!). But that costs $160, so there may be room for your more affordable plugin in the market. Keep up the good work! Stefan, I admire your ambition. Plug-ins alias is broken. Could it be because perhaps you have a localized version of OS X? Put some with the face of 60-year old man, as I hardly can believe you're making all of these apps, and moreover, that they are free! :D Oh, I see now that this plugin is shareware :) What would the price be for me as the first customer? :) Also, is it only possible to have a horizontal focus line?
