Aperture TiltShift Plug-In

I created an Aperture Edit Plug-In for computer generated tilt-shift photography. The software allows you to create fake miniature versions of regular photos, simulating the effect of expensive tilt-shift lenses.

Since I hardly made any money so far with Sofortbild I want to sell this plug-in. But I didn’t yet came up with a price. So please let me know what you would be willing to pay (I was thinking about something like ten bucks).

  1. Mario,

Ok, you definitely have to change your photo in the footer of the page. Put some with the face of 60-year old man, as I hardly can believe you’re making all of these apps, and moreover, that they are free! :D

Oh, I see now that this plugin is shareware :) What would the price be for me as the first customer? :)

Also, is it only possible to have a horizontal focus line? If yes, in the future releases the ability to hold a modifier key and rotate the focus line would be much appreciated :)

    Best regards.

  2. Mario,

Oh yea, one more thing.. Plug-ins alias is broken. Could it be because perhaps you have a localized version of OS X?

    I placed mine in /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export and it’s working :)

  3. NLH,

Stefan, I admire your ambition. With a few more important features added, you might have a plugin Aperture users would pay for. A few things for you to consider: the plane of focus needs to be ’tiltable’, not always a straight horizontal line. Also, the depth of field/amount of blur needs to be adjustable. And as Mario mentioned, an oval-shaped plane of focus is a must, with the same adjustability that I just mentioned. Unfortunately, you will be competing with a very good selective focus plugin that’s already on the market – OnOne Software’s FocalPoint (which I already own, sorry!). But that costs $160, so there may be room for your more affordable plugin in the market. Keep up the good work!

For 10$ (US I assume), you definitely have a winer. Despite some shortcomings (as stated above), this would be a valuable plug-in. Any idea how I can get it?

    Thanks
